Preparing the Assignment

4. Use the SMART goal you formatted this week and the result of the Leadership Style Inventory at the end of the lesson to complete the Leadership Style Analysis assignment.
5. When complete, save and close the completed template. Click the Submit button at the top of this page to upload your completed assignment.
6. Using APA format, cite and reference ideas and information from scholarly sources from the Chamberlain library. Sources should be no more than five years old unless they are historical references.
7. Follow grammar, spelling, word usage, and punctuation rules consistent with formal, professional writing.

1. What was your result from the Leadership Style Inventory assessment in the lesson? Use citations to discuss.
2. Do you feel this result accurately reflects your leadership style? Why or why not?
3. How do you (or how will you) use this leadership style in the clinical practice environment? Give an example.

Section 3: SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Based) Goal

1.  What was your leadership-related SMART goal from the lesson?
2. How does this goal help you grow as a professional nursing leader and contribute to your long-term career vision?
3. What barriers could present themselves in the achievement of this goal? How will you overcome them?

Section 1: Leadership, Management, and Followership

1. In your current experience, do you more frequently assume the role of leader, manager, or follower? Explain your answer.

In my practice today, I mostly assume a followership role because I take directions and orders from the physicians regarding what needs to be done or not done for patients. However, I have sparingly assumed the leadership role where I have stepped in as a Charge Nurse while the substantive ones are not working

2. What are your two strongest leadership characteristics? Explain your answer.

I would term integrity and accountability as my two strongest leadership characteristics. I try as much as possible to always remain honest with all the people I interact with and highly reliable in discharging my responsibilities. Further, I seek to be answerable for all my actions and decisions while following through on my commitments.
