- Research and choose one of the below contemporary policies of your choice and interest. You are welcome to use any policy we have touched upon throughout the course.
- Potential policies include:
- The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
- The Affordable Care Act
- Medicaid expansion
- School-based health centers
- Vaccination programs at state, federal, or global levels
- Free or reduced-cost clinics
- Health education programs for preventative care
- Nutritional assistance programs
- Mental health service access
- Telehealth initiatives
- The World Health Organization’s Universal Health Coverage Initiative
- Global initiatives to combat disease(s)
- Every Woman Every Child Initiative
- The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
- International Labour Organization Convention 182 on Worst Forms of Child Labor
- Environment: The Right to Clean Air and Water
- OR a contemporary policy of your choice

You are welcome to include: a state constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the United Nations Newsroom, the World Health Organization, or the PEW Research Center. All material within the course room can be cited and referenced as needed.
